Acupuncture Treatment
Laura Stauffer, Clinical Acupuncture Intern, is currently accepting acupuncture patients at the Tai Sophia Institute (www.tai.edu) Baltimore Acupuncture Clinic at Belvedere Square.
During your acupuncture treatment, Laura will be supervised by an acupuncturist with many years experience. As a patient, you will be tended by several practioners at once while in the student clinic.
- Your first appointment we will discuss your health history and current lifestyle, which will take up to two hours and will cost $70.00.
- All appointments thereafter will cost $55.00 and will typically last between 45 - 75 minutes, depending on the treatment we do that day.
Laura currently practices auricular acupuncture under clinical supervision by a licensed acupuncturist at CHI (Community Health Initiative) sites sponsored by Tai Sophia Instituite. The auricular acupuncture treatment is in accordance with NADA protocol, intended for detox treatment for patients in recovery from addiction. Laura visits the CHI sites weekly to give the clinically supervised auricular acupuncture treatments to patients.
Traditional acupuncture is a gentle yet powerful medicine which has been proven effective over the course of thousands of years. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes for Health (NIH) endorse acupuncture as beneficial for many conditions. This highly effective and safe treatment is a primary health care modality for over one third of the world’s population. It activates the natural healing properties inherent in each individual. It strengthens the immune system and treats the root causes of disease and illness. Those who receive ongoing treatment have reported an improved sense of vitality and stamina. They get sick less often and experience a deeper sense of peace and well being which shows up in all areas of life.
Even though acupuncture is an ancient tradition of healing, it addresses many manifestations of illness in our modern society and can be used in conjunction with western medicine. Well known for its use in easing pain, acupuncture is beneficial for a wide range of diseases throughout the body. Many chronic illnesses and acute conditions such as headaches, chronic fatigue, depression, allergies, back pain, digestive disorders, joint pain, sleeping problems, infertility, menstrual disorders and other symptoms can be alleviated through treatment.
